Where Learning Comes Naturally
Imagine seeing the excitement and anticipation in the eyes of your students as they enter another world. The air is full of buzzing conversations as students eagerly check into their cabins. They have just begun a journey of fun, friendships and discovery! We strive to develop students’ self-awareness along with their appreciation for one-another and the environment. Our dedication to delivering hands-on “living” curriculum is based on the PA State Academic Standards combined with outdoor recreation, team building and adventure!
Escape the confines of your classroom and the busy schedules of today’s youth to give them a meaningful day or overnight learning experience.
“A kid today can likely tell you about the Amazon rain forest — but not the last time he or she explored the woods in solitude, or lay in a field listening to the wind and watching the clouds move.”
– Richard Louv, Last Child in the Woods
With over 50 different outdoor classes from which to choose, we’ll help you find the right fit. Classes range from scientific to recreational to cultural and historical. A hands-on, experiential, nature-based, community experience at South Mountain YMCA Camps is a unique event students remember long after they return to the classroom!
