Like all YMCAs, the critical work we do with children, families, businesses, schools, and other community groups would not be possible without the work of dedicated volunteers.  If you are interested in serving as a policy or sub-committee volunteer please contact our CEO at your convenience.  If you have it in your heart to serve, we have valuable work for you to do.

South Mountain YMCA Service Corps

The South Mountain YMCA Service Corps are groups of dedicated volunteers that work together to support a special area of our operations.  Currently, there are 3 Service Corps opportunities at Camp:

• Facilities Service Corps:  These volunteers assist our staff in maintaining our buildings, programs spaces, and fences.  There is work year-round for men and women who want to help keep our facility in great shape for the children and families that visit.
• Flowers & Grounds Service Corps:  These volunteers work seasonally to keep our grounds beautiful.  Plant flowers, shrubs, trees, and grass each spring.  Help rake leaves each fall.  We could use your help!
• Equestrian Service Corps:  If you love horses, we have a volunteer opportunity for you.  Assist our small equestrian staff in caring for our horses and providing quality programs to our guests and students.  Service opportunities are available year-round.

Alumni Association Committee Volunteers

If you are a former staff member or camper, we could use you on the committee of our Alumni Association.  Help our staff keep our alumni involved through events, communications, and service opportunities. 

Sub-Committee Volunteers

Are you interested in becoming involved with our board of directors?  Do you have the desire to shape the future of the South Mountain YMCA Camps' programs?  Join one of our active sub-committees and learn more about volunteer leadership opportunities.  We are looking for individuals interested in our Financial Development Committee, as well as our Facilities Committee.

Board of Directors

Each year, 6-10 new volunteers are nominated to our Board of Directors.  This 31 member organization is responsible for all aspects of the South Mountain YMCA.  We are constantly seeking new leadership talent in a variety of fields.  Please contact our CEO if you are interested.
